Walk for Peace - April 13, 2008

On April 13, 2008, in commemoration of the anniversary of the Lebanese civil war, Offre-Joie organized the walk for peace with the participation of several NGOs. The walk started near the church of Mar Mikhael and ended in Down town Beirut, where for the first time in 18 months, the area closed for the sit-in was opened for the marchers for peace. It was followed by testimonies on the war by prominent TV presenters and a common prayer read by religious representatives of all the communities in Lebanon. The day ended with a planting of an olive tree in the garden of Forgiveness in Down Town Beirut.
